Ellen Greene sings “Somewhere That’s Green” at the 50th NYFF
After a screening of the director’s cut of Frank Oz’s LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at the 50th New York Film Festival, actress Ellen Greene surprised the audience with a performance of “Somewhere That’s Green” on the stage of the Walter Reade Theater, accompanied by composer Alan Menken!
“In His Eyes” from JEKYLL & HYDE (S. Korea)
2 reasons why this is possibly the best version of this song ever:
1. The two actresses have completely different singing styles (classical-ish vs mostly straight-toned/raw). These two styles directly relate to the social classes of the characters they play (Emma = upper class, Lucy = lower class).
2. Do you HEAR that orchestra? You’ll have a hard time finding a recording of this song with a better orchestra than the one this production had. Simply fantastic.
“A New Life” from JEKYLL & HYDE
Sung by Kim Sun-young on the 2006 Korean Cast Recording. My favorite non-English version of this song.
“Bring on the Men” from JEKYLL & HYDE
Sung by Emmy Raver-Lampman (u/s Lucy) in the 2012/13 Pre-Broadway National Tour.
“In His Eyes” from JEKYLL & HYDE
Sung by Teal Wicks & Emmy Raver-Lampman (u/s Lucy) in the 2012/13 Pre-Broadway National Tour.
The Little Shop of Horrors Director’s Cut is available on DVD/Blu-Ray today!
This version includes the VERY different (and apocalyptic) original ending and a slew of other special features!
Don’t forget: DR. HORRIBLE’S SING-ALONG BLOG premieres on TV for the first time tomorrow evening (October 9th) at 9/8c on The CW in the U.S.!

“I Know” from HALLOWEEN HULLABALOO: A Spooktacular Musical Revue
“If You Only Knew” from Jekyll & Hyde
This song for Emma (sung by Brandi Burkhardt) was featured in the 2005-06 Jekyll & Hyde: In Concert tour and also appears on the 2006 Resurrection album. However, it is not part of the 2012 broadway revival and hasn’t been included in any other productions to date.
“In His Eyes” from Jekyll & Hyde (2012 Concept Recording)
Sung by Teal Wicks and Deborah Cox.
